We only stayed for one night, and despite passing by previously had never stumbled on this hotel before. We were upgraded to the master bedroom (shown in the photos) as there were few people on the night we had chosen. The room was large, spacious, and really nicely decorated with high quality fixtures and fittings. The bathroom looked virtually brand new, with a huge jacuzzi bath, rain shower head, and backlit mirror- every chrome fitting was polished and sparkling clean, not a spec of dirt on any surface, and lovely cosy underfloor heating in the bathroom. The bedroom was well equipped, fresh fruit, tea/coffee and mineral water, spare heater for those cold nights, and high quality bed linens with duvet cover, blankets etc. there was even a little lounge area In the corner turret, lovely furniture and very fitting to the age of the house. The whole house was immaculate, with a very warm welcome, even though we were early, and help in carrying our bags upstairs. Couldn't fault the service or hotel at all, a real hidden gem, and a stunning view when you awake in the morning.

We really enjoyed our stay here - service was great, our room was very comfortable, and the food was excellent. The hotel is in a very quiet spot, but has easy access to the main road between Grantown and Aviemore. We had a room on the first floor with great views across to the Cairngorms. The room was very spacious with all the things to make your stay enjoyable - flat-screen tv, kettle and tea and coffee, bottles of spring water, fresh fruit replenished daily. The only issue we had - and a very minor one at that - is that the shower is over the bath and the bath is quite narrow, so you don't have much room inside the shower curtain. That said, the bathroom itself is very large so it's not a big issue. We'd definitely go back again.

We stayed 5 nights in the room “Tulchan” It started with a very warm welcome by the owner. The room itself was very spacious and appointed by the best of taste. All common rooms were furnished and arranged with a great love for the detail. The breakfast was excellent; well sorted menu. It was no problem to ask for adjustments by your personal taste. The Afternoon Tea was the most admirable we ever had. We also enjoyed a 3-course dinner. The food exceeded all our expectations.

Charming hotel with outstanding food and service. Absolutely immaculate, very comfortable, warm & friendly. A beautifully Scottish country house, professionally run by the owners. Highly recommend this hotel - we will definitely return - fantastic!

We received the warmest of welcomes and felt truly relaxed throughout. Iain and Elaine are perfectionists as hosts, able to anticipate every need. Their standards of service, cuisine and accommodation are quite exceptional. We could find no fault.
