What can guests enjoy when staying in the Ventnor area?

Ventnor is a renowned seaside resort on the Isle of Wight. Established in the Victorian era, it lies underneath the iconic St Boniface Down. Due to the sheltered location on the cliff of the Island's south coast, Ventnor receives a unique microclimate with more sunny days recorded than much of the British Isles. These temperatures have meant sub tropical plants have survived well at Ventnor Botanical Gardens, just a moments walk from The Royal Hotel. Just a short drive takes you to Devil's Chimney, a hot spot for walkers on the Island. With its narrow, steep path set in the rocky cliff face, once used by smugglers to give quick access to the bay. Explore caves, hideouts and take photos on the famed wishing chair. There is so much on offer in Ventnor and the surrounding areas.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

Be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, The Royal Hotel have you covered with outstanding 2 AA Rosette food available on-site. The head chef Matthew Egan takes inspiration from the Island, using local produce to give guests an authentic Island taste to each bite. Available is a seven course tasting menu, sure to excite your senses. In addition to this, Ventnor is buzzing with fantastic restauraunts and public houses that rival anything elsewhere on the Island.
