Overview

The Bath Priory separates itself as a serene country house in a bustling city. The Georgian house of honey coloured stone enjoys a serene location only a short stroll through Royal Victoria Park to Bath's city centre.

What makes a stay at The Bath Priory unique?

Steeped in history, The Bath Priory is decorated with the Brownsword family's collection of 20th-century art to welcome guests into their home-from-home, inviting them to relax and embrace a more leisurely pace of life. At the heart of the hotel is the celebrated restaurant, an intimate dining area with magnificent views across the hotel's four acres of award-winning gardens. And to help guests truly unwind, The Garden Spa by L'Occitane offers massages and a selection of luxurious treatments by the French skincare brand. The relaxing ambience of the hotel and the beautiful gardens – which change with every season – come together to create an immersive, unforgettable experience for every guest.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at The Bath Priory?

Each of the hotel's 33 guest rooms are all individual in character and distinction. Naturally, all come with crisp white linen, plumped up pillows and Vispring beds to guarantee that perfect night's slumber. Named after flowers, the majority of rooms have stunning views across the hotel's beautiful gardens, with period furniture and contemporary bathrooms. The seven suites offer an indulgent space for guests to call their own. Named after the distinctive architectural crescents found in Bath, the suites feature hand-crafted wood panelling, bespoke furniture and sumptuous fabrics. Guests are greeted with homemade biscuits and mineral water, L'Occitane skincare and bath lotions, slippers and fluffy bathrobes in their room.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Bath area?

The city of Bath is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Roman Baths, Pump Rooms and Theatre Royal are noteworthy highlights alongside the city's architectural merits including the Royal Crescent and The Circus. Horse riding, golf and polo facilities are also available within a 15-minute drive from the hotel and guests can explore Bath by canal boat, open-top bus or on foot, or head out of the city for a trip to Stonehenge, Longleat Safari Park or nearby Lacock Abbey.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

At the heart of the hotel is the celebrated restaurant, with magnificent views across the hotel's beautiful gardens. The menu offers a memorable culinary journey with a focus on fresh, local produce, flavour and balance to create exciting, modern French dishes epitomising the finest seasonal dining. Alongside the fine dining restaurant, The Pantry adopts a much simpler, casual dining experience with a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. With parquet flooring and stunning bay windows, this intimate retreat fuses comfort with sophistication. If guests wish to venture into Bath, there is a wide and varied choice of restaurants, pubs, cafés and bars.
