Reviews

Having saw Pensthorpe on a billboard in Norwich, we decided to make it out one morning just after opening. We were completely blown away by the place. The price is slightly cheaper than nearby, similar style places which was a big plus. The nature walks around the property were beautiful, and suitable for our pushchair and little one to get around. Feeding the various ducks was an absolute spectacle. The trail to follow to find all the embossed animals to get a badge is easy enough to navigate. The real star of the show here though is the children's outdoor as well as indoor play areas. They are unrivaled in my opinion. And there is under 5s soft play inside where older kids actually stay out of so your little ones can feel safe. The cafe just outside the gift shop does really top quality food. We had their daily special, a beetroot and goat cheese baguette that was outstanding while also picking up a kids option. Let's not forget about the flamingos!!!! Really, this place is an absolute delight. If you enjoy the outdoors and safe areas to let the kids be kids, you really couldn't choose a better location.

We took our two grandchildren to the park on Monday had a great day ,to my surprise they both enjoyed the day dispute the damp weather .There is plenty for young and old to see waterbirds squirrels and some common and some rare birds although the crane and flamingo were out of bounds. The new bird hide is worth the walk as well as the others dotted about, my advice is to take sensible walking boots a good camera and binoculars as some of the wildlife is quite a long way away. There is also a well stocked shop were you can buy food for the ducks and geese as BREAD is not good for the birds. The cafe also serves a good range of food and drinks. You can spend a whole day here and not see it all. One other tip in the late autumn and winter they feed the birds by the main lake in flood light, well worth it.

Myself, my boyfriend, my Dad and my Grandma decided to have a day out here after much deliberation of where to go. This is due to the fact that my Grandma now uses a wheelchair and some gardens and places of similar ilk are not suitable for disabled access. However, Pensthorpe most definitely is and as a family we enjoyed looking at the lovely well kept but wild gardens! The wildlife here is thriving due to how well looked after everything is - its just a nice day out especially for only £11/12 entrance fee each! We didnt go in the cafe but that also looked nice, as was the gift shop. We would certainly go back if we were in the area again!

Our family of three each had a favourite area (or two) at the fantastic Pensthorpe Natural Park. Our five year old daughter loved the two excellent play areas, one indoors (timed) and an outdoor area with a lot of opportunity for free play. Her favourite thing was to build a bridge across a stream that runs through the playground. My husband and I were smitten with the beautiful Piet Oudolf garden. The prairie planting is perfectly suited to the site and sways beautifully in the Norfolk breeze. The staff were so very friendly, the park is well laid out and there is lots left to see for our next visit.

I don't often give out 5 stars but Pensthorpe warrants it. We were both blown away with this place. From the Pensthorpe Explorer taking us round the grounds on the Safari bus, to the hides, gardens and Red Squirrel conservation. Some routes are wheelchair friendly, and marked clearly on the map. If we'd had more time we'd have made a 2nd visit. Certainly will go again if we return to Norfolk.
