Overview


Explore the hidden treasures of Penrhyn Castle Penrhyn Castle is a stunning 19th century neo-Norman castle, built for the wealthy Pennant family. It is crammed with fascinating things including a one-ton slate bed made for Queen Victoria. It houses one of the best art collections in Wales, including paintings by Rembrandt, Gainsborough and Canaletto. The castle´s interiors are decorated with elaborate carvings, hand-made wallpapers and stained glass, and its furniture collection with many original pieces, and designed by Thomas Hopper. In the stable block are an Industrial Railway Museum, Model Railway Museum and the Doll Museum, with over 500 dolls from around the world.
