Moor Hall was once the home of Bishop Vesey and Henry VIII was frequently entertained here. Moving on a few centuries, the present Moor Hall was built by Colonel Edward Ansell of Ansell Brewery fame in the early 1900s. Many of the original wood carvings and stained glass can still be seen at Moor Hall today. Make sure you visit the beautiful sunken garden in the grounds at Moor Hall. Originally thought to be a bear or cock pit, the gardens have attractive Edwardian grottos and water features. The sunken garden leads on to the woodlands which you can follow a fairy door trail around to explore.
