Overview

Logie House Garden has been open to the public since 1993; an interesting woodland garden with distinct areas of different conditions allow for a wide variety of planting. Rare and unusual shrubs, trees and perennials abound and many are for sale in the nearby Farm & Garden Shop at Logie Steading.

Where is Logie House Gardens located?

Logie House is 7 miles south of Forres, just off the A940, in the dramatic Findhorn valley. Follow the signs to Logie Steading and the garden is a short walk from the car park. Disabled car parking is available nearer to the garden.

What style of garden is Logie House Gardens?

The gardens have evolved in stages since 1991, changing from a formal parterre and traditional vegetable garden to a much more relaxed woodland garden with year-round interest of trees, shrubs and unusual perennials. Maturing Davidia, Cercidiphyllum, Birches, Prunus and species of Sorbus and Viburnum create a structure and microclimate in which a wide variety of plants thrive. Large herbaceous perennials jostle with the stately grasses extending interest well into the Autumn.

What can guests enjoy at Logie House Gardens?

Logie Steading, in the old farm buildings, has an acclaimed café, art gallery, craft shop, whisky and wine shop, farm & garden shop and a Heritage Centre. There is also a playpark and extensive walks along the beautiful River Findhorn. Logie is a place to take one's time!

Reviewed by R W 15 Jul 2018 Beautiful garden and lovely cafe We visited here in order to see the gardens. We had coffee and cake in the cafe first. The chocolate orange cake was delicious. We then set off to explore the gardens. I think they may easily be missed if you didn't know they existed as the signpost for them is quite small. There is plenty to see in the garden and also some lovely views. The garden looks cared for and there has been imagination used in the planting. It was one of the best garden visits during my week in Scotland and we will go back next time we are up in the area. We also popped into the garden centre although I knew I couldn't buy any plants as I was travelling by train. There was a good selection and again they had been looked after.

Reviewed by SandraBisset 22 Jul 2018 Day Out First visit and would definitely return. Lovely gardens and the house looks stunning. Also a lovely river walk. Shops were very nice and sold unique items. The garden centre was well stocked and plants in good condition. We had lovely soup and thick bread in the cafe. Very tasty. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Some beautiful items for sale in the Art Gallery. Hoping to return in December for the Christmas Fair!!

Reviewed by itchyfeet2014 16 Aug 2018 A great afternoon out Went here for an excellent lunch, good service, nice food. Lovely arrangement of interesting shops, gallery and bookstore. But the real bonus was a visit to the fantastic gardens. Do not miss this beautiful gem, all overlooked by the Logie house, a photographers delight.
