Overview

If cosy, fireside Scottish country house living is your idea of holiday bliss, you may wish to make a booking at Kilcamb Lodge. Make the ferry crossing to Ardnamurchan, an unspoilt Highland idyll on the most western peninsula of Britain, to reach this utterly welcoming house with its cosy lounge with open fire, plump sofas and magnificent views. The hotel stands on the shores of Loch Sunart on the edge of the village of Strontian and makes a great base for exploring the islands of Mull, Eigg, Rum, Muck, Staffa, Coll and Tiree as well as the beautiful Moydart Morvern. Spend the day walking, wildlife watching or going on a whale-watching tour and then return back to base to tuck into a hearty fish pie or the hotel's classic home-made burger in the brasserie. If you fancy polished silver at the dinner table with crisp white linens and classic Scottish produce, head for the fine dining restaurant. Bedrooms have had a make-over and now have luxury bathrooms with underfloor heating and power showers.
