Other Information
The cottage was formally part of the estate of Thornage Hall built in 1482.
This 15th Century Hall became the grange to the Bishops of Norwich. After the dissolution of the monasteries King Henry VIII gave the hall to his physician Sir William Butts. Through time the cottage became the gamekeeper's lodgings until the 1950's when the last keeper left.
