Keepers Cottage offers a variety of amenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible. All rooms are serviced daily and refreshed. The house is set on the edge of the village in the Glaven Valley conservation area with a large variety of walks, coastline and tourist attractions. The breakfasts are cooked to order and use the finest local produce. There are several options to choose and there is fresh fruit, yogurts and juices.

The one room suite has a kingsize brass bed, large Victorian roll top copper bath and dressing table. En-suite shower, heated towelrail, heated basin mirror. The King bedroom also with en-suite shower and toilet. Both rooms have original Norfolk ‘reds' brick fireplace with gas stove to make you cosy. The Loft Rooms also with en-suite toilet and shower can be either made up as a twin bed room or a sumptuous King bed. All rooms have guest bath and hand opulent cotton towels, a hairdryer, heated towel rails, oak flooring and carpets, seating, toiletries hand made locally with aromatherapy-grade essential oils and scents. Tea, coffee and beverages, biscuits, candy and water. Smart TV including free Netflix, internet connection and wi-fi.

Located in the Glaven Valley Conservation area 2.5 miles from the Georgian Town of Holt in North Norfolk Coast Line. The Poppy line with its steam railway at Holt Station and 6 miles from the North Norfolk coast line which features Wells next to Sea, Holkham, Cley, Wiveton and Blakeney. The National Nature Reserve on the coast at Blakeney with boat trips to see the seals, Holkham Hall Stateley Home, Thursford Steam Collection, Norfolk Broads and Bewilderwood outdoor treehouse adventure. Cromer Pier and the beautiful seaside town of Sheringham, Walsingham Abbey and Shrine, Pensthorpe Natural Park. The area has a good selection of places to eat and drink. The local Pub and Restaurant The Hunworth Bell was runner-up in the GQ Magazine best pub award. Kings Head at Letheringsett as a lovely Georgian House with bar and restaurant. Wiverton Bell, the Walpole Arms and the unique Gunton Arms with its Deer park. Holt with numerous cafes led with Byfords and the Owl and Sheringham with lots of pubs and café's. Wells next to Sea for your fish and chips and The Hoste Arms at Burnham Market.

Other Information

The cottage was formally part of the estate of Thornage Hall built in 1482. This 15th Century Hall became the grange to the Bishops of Norwich. After the dissolution of the monasteries King Henry VIII gave the hall to his physician Sir William Butts. Through time the cottage became the gamekeeper's lodgings until the 1950's when the last keeper left.
