Overview

Hart Barn is a stunning barn conversion in the tiny hamlet of Hartsop, offering contemporary accommodation for two. With meticulous attention to detail, Hart Barn has been designed to provide a romantic bolthole for couples to enjoy. With stunning views of the mountains and lakes, and superb walking right from the doorstep, it's the perfect location for a romantic holiday.

What makes a stay at Hart Barn unique?

Totally renovated and rebuilt by the architect owner, the barn has every convenience, including underfloor heating and a stylish kitchen-diner, featuring the very best Neff appliances. From there, guests are led to the feature spiral staircase, made from oak sleepers and steel. To make the most of the stunning views, there is a living room on the first floor, with a stunning wood burner. The galleried bedroom features a unique glass chandelier, and the bathroom has a luxurious freestanding tub that's perfect for unwinding after a day out walking or wild swimming. Guests receive a bottle of Prosecco and a homemade cake on arrival.

What is the capacity for Hart Barn?

Designed as the ultimate romantic hideaway for discerning couples, Hart Barn sleeps two in a luxurious king-sized bed, in the second-floor galleried bedroom. On the first floor, the spacious and comfortable lounge offers views over the valley to Brotherswater and the hills beyond.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Penrith area?

At the southernmost end of the Patterdale valley, Hart Barn sits right in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Just a short distance from the charming village of Ambleside, and within easy reach of all of the other attractions of the Lakes, Hart Barn is brilliantly located.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

A local award-winning farm shop can supply food on arrival, as well as fresh dairy products, including milk in glass bottles! All of the basics are provided for guests, including milk, tea, coffee and so on, and there's also a homemade cake and a bottle of Prosecco. Ambleside has a number of great restaurants, and within three miles of Hart Barn, there are three pubs offering traditional pub meals, as well as a hotel at Glenridding, on the shores of Ullswater. Shops are available in Glenridding and Patterdale, and there is a supermarket in Windermere, just a little further away.

This has to be one of the best positioned, best specified, best appointed and best equipped cottages in the county. Congratulations Helen and Richard, your hard work is greatly appreciated.
