A local award-winning farm shop can supply food on arrival, as well as fresh dairy products, including milk in glass bottles! All of the basics are provided for guests, including milk, tea, coffee and so on, and there's also a homemade cake and a bottle of Prosecco.
Ambleside has a number of great restaurants, and within three miles of Hart Barn, there are three pubs offering traditional pub meals, as well as a hotel at Glenridding, on the shores of Ullswater.
Shops are available in Glenridding and Patterdale, and there is a supermarket in Windermere, just a little further away.
