What is the history of Dunham Massey House and Gardens to the present day?

A house filled with treasures, an ancient deer park and a renowned family garden- 300 years of history have unfolded at Dunham Massey. Home to two great families, the Booths and the Greys; their stories of fortune, scandal and duty can still be felt across the estate today. During the First World War this magnificent Georgian house was dramatically transformed into a military hospital, becoming a healing sanctuary for almost 300 soldiers direct from the trenches. Learn about their stories and the role Dunham played in their recovery.

What is there to see and do at Dunham Massey House and Gardens?

Come to Dunham throughout the year for family-friendly fun including children's trails, craft sessions, exhibitions, guided park walks, storytelling and much more. During Spring and Summer, their will be theatre and outdoor cinema performances as well as music in the garden. Dunham has one of Britain's finest Summer and winter gardens. During the winter season a spectacular Christmas at Dunham light extravaganza takes place, with a magical illuminated trail, Victorian-themed rides, and other festive delights.
