Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre is a colourful multi award winning interactive exhibition telling the story of the Battle of Bosworth, its place in the Wars of the Roses and the transition to the Tudor age, as well as the re-discovery of the battlefield through archaeological investigations. The exhibition is set within a well appointed visitor centre and beautiful Country Park in the south west of Leicestershire. Self lead or guided walks around the site are amongst one of the highlights, as well a diverse events programme including living history weekends.
Where is Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre & Country Park located?
The Battlefield Centre is located between the small and historic market town of Market Bosworth and the villages of Shenton and Sutton Cheney in the south west of Leicestershire. It is easily found by following the signposts and brown tourist signs off the A444 and A447 and is a short walk from the wharf on the Ashby de la Zouch Canal at Sutton Cheney.

Visitors of all ages will find something to enjoy at the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and Country Park, where the dramatic story of how King Richard III lost his life, crown and the throne of England to Henry Tudor is told. The award winning small visitor attraction offers a colourful and interactive experience where you will journey through the Wars of the Roses and the most pivotal final moments of the story that were played out in the landscape not far from the exhibition site. You will find a range of interpretation, hands-on elements and stories from those who were there to help you understand medieval life and times, as well as what it would have been like to fight for your Country. The site also offers guided and self-led walks, living history events and a busy events programme throughout the year . The 1485 Tithe Barn restaurant offers a variety of refreshments and the well-stocked Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre shop has a great range of souvenirs, gifts and books.
Things to do in the local area?
Nearby historic Market Bosworth hosts a small but selective number of independent shops, tea rooms and cafes together with several high end restaurants, a hotel and a number of B & B's as well its own award winning County Park and a marina on the Ashby de la Zouch Canal. The Battlefield Railway line has stations at Market Bosworth, Shackerstone and Shenton where a local glass blower also has her studio. Bosworth Water Park with its sailing lake is also popular with day visitors and also has a camping and caravan park on site. There are a number of other attractions a little further afield including Twycross Zoo and the 1620s House & Garden at Donington le Heath.
Other Information
Individual and family entry tickets are valid for 12 months (Annual Pass) from the date of purchase, but do exclude special events including the annual Bosworth Medieval Festival Weekend in August. The Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre exhibition is accessible and includes a lift from the exhibition galleries to the shop. The site also has two Mobilty Scooters that can be hired free of charge (pre booking recommended). Beyond the exhibition, the main public walking route to the memorial sundial is on made up paths.
