Shrewsbury in Shropshire is the birth place of Charles Darwin. It is near the Welsh border and is one of the finest market towns in the country, the town centre has many black and white building, narrow streets and alleyways. The river Severn runs through the town and offers boat trips and lovely riverside walks. In the summer there are a number of festivals including the famous flower festival.
