Places to visit in or near Mere

The historic village of Mere is one of England's Best Kept Villages and remains remarkably unspoilt with its neat terraces of houses made from local sandstone and village pubs to enjoy a relaxing drink and food. There is evidence of a settlement nearby dating back to the Iron Age, also records show a church was present back in 1091.
