The medieval Cornish town of Lostwithiel is a lovely place to stay to explore the beautiful countryside and beaches of South East Cornwall. It lies at the head of the estuary of the River Fowey. It has a good selection of shops and pubs, restaurants as well as plenty of places to stay. There are some great walks along the valley of the river as well as good fishing and canoeing. Places of interest nearby include Restormel Castle and Lanhydrock House.
