Ellesmere Port is the largest of the towns located on the southern end of the Wirral Peninsular. Probably best known for the scheme of locks, docks and warehouses surveyed and built by the famous engineer Thomas Telford. With a contemporary shopping centre, the Port Arcades and Market, also The Boat Museum which depicts the development of the canal systems is now a major attraction.
