Overview
Norfolk House occupies a lovely spot overlooking the church and war memorial in Cheveley, a picturesque village close to Newmarket in Suffolk. After a long journey enjoy a refreshing cup tea and cake on arrival and luxuriate in the peaceful setting surrounded by gardens, a swimming pool (open in summer) and horses grazing in the fields beyond. Choose from the Blue room with en-suite shower and long country views; the French room, with its gorgeous king size bed complemented by antique furniture, silk curtains and use of shower, private toilet and basin; and the luxurious twin Cream room with grand double aspect windows and private shower room. For added space take to the lounge and relax in front of the TV or warm yourself by the open fire in chillier months. Wake up to delicious continental breakfast served in the conservatory, dining room or garden, depending on the weather!
Reviews
My husband and I have stayed at Norfolk House several times, and most recently for a six-night holiday. The proprietors are charming people, for whom nothing is too much trouble. Their beautiful home is peacefully located and run with friendly, calm professionalism. Bedrooms are very comfortable, have high quality linen, and are thoughtfully appointed. We particularly appreciate the daily arrival of fresh milk for our early morning tea! A highlight for us is the continental breakfast, served in the bright conservatory (or the terrace on fine mornings, if you wish) overlooking the delightful garden and swimming pool. Breakfasts are generous and comprise home-made Bircher muesli, a wide choice of cereals, quality bread, croissants, preserves, fresh fruit, ham, cheese, juice, tea and coffee. There are many excellent restaurants and pubs within easy reach of Norfolk House, and the proprietors are happy to offer suggestions of places to eat, and to visit. We cannot recommend Norfolk House highly enough, and will certainly be back again.

Our second stay at Norfolk House and our expectations were exceeded. Clean comfortable and well-appointed we felt like Royalty! Breakfast was varied, plentiful and very tasty. Wouldn't hesitate giving five stars.
