We stayed for one night in this beautiful hotel. Very cosy and comfortable. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed, hair and body products, tea and coffee and also the little shortbreads in the room were a lovely touch. Breakfast was lovely, a very good selection of cooked breakfast and continental and the staff were very approachable and helpful. Will definitely be returning soon!

We wanted somewhere near the bottom of the M5, on our way to Cornwall, and this was a wonderful find. The house is immaculate, the staff friendly and helpful. We ate at the Dartmore Inn, a ten minute walk, where the food is outstanding. Take a torch, there are no streetlights! We awoke to perfect silence, bar the sound of birds, and enjoyed a superb breakfast. It is not often you come across a gem like this, and we look forward to returning.

We only stayed one night and were lucky to find they had a room free - everywhere was very busy and we'd been let down on another booking. We didn't regret it though - all the staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was small but perfectly adequate and well presented. The scenery around Lydford is superb as is the village and the local pub (with good food and helpful staff). Lydford Gorge is a superb NT property with a superb circular walk - not for the infirm though. We'd highly recommend Lydford House.
