Overview

A magnificent medieval family house, Long Crendon Manor, offers you a warm welcome. The luxurious bedrooms have TV/DVD and Wi-Fi. The oak-panelled Drawing Room is available for guests to relax, read, or just enjoy the log fire on a cold Winter's night. You are invited to enjoy the garden with its view over the local historic market town of Thame to the Chiltern Hills beyond, its maze and fountain, croquet lawns and ancient yew and mulberry trees and 28 acres of parkland and stables. Oxford is just 30 minutes away and London well under an hour by train. Long Crendon Manor is a working farm and estate with two large and very friendly St. Bernard dogs.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at Long Crendon Manor?

Laline's Bedroom, the Master Suite, has antique furnishings, including a four-poster bed. Modern touches include the en-suite bathroom, a large flat-screen TV and down-lighting which compliments the ancient oak beams and pillars. Views from this room look out across the lawn onto the Chiltern Hills. The Lady de L'Isle's Bedroom overlooks the walled maze garden and the lawns. There is a large dressing-room that has twin beds for the use of the guest's family if required. There is a separate private bathroom. Named after the yellow panelling along one of its walls, the Yellow Room has a french theme and overlooks the apple orchard; home to a small menagerie of geese, ducks and hens. The room also has a dressing room with an adjoining shower room. Every bedroom is fitted with free Wi-Fi, TV's, tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge and toweling bathrobes. Toiletries are available as usual, all sourced from Pure Lakes, hand-made in  Cumbria in 100% recycled, refillable bottles. 

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Aylesbury area?

From Oxford to Blenheim Palace, to Manoir au Quats Saisons, Waddesdon Manor to Bletchley Park, Bicester Village Outlet you can visit several local sites within the Aylesbury area. Through the gardens you will see the Chiltern Hills, a protected area of outstanding natural beauty, which has many walking and cycling routes from Long Crendon Manor to local villages, attractions and pubs. 

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

Long Crendon Manor Stables has a traditional Bakery, offering sourdough and bread, pastries and confectionery baked freshly every morning. the Farmshop provides all kinds of local items, including local meats, dairy products, local wines, gin and beer. The licensed Cafe serves offers guests breakfast, coffee, lunch and afternoon tea while always using locally sourced produce.

From M40 J8a (Oxford Services) take A418 towards Aylesbury. At Thame continue on A418 (Thame ring road) and at next roundabout take first left B4011 to Long Crendon. After entering Long Crendon turn first left at The Square. Continue straight down Frogmore Lane keeping The square on the right. After 100 yards, just before the hill goes down, on the left is the large stone archway entrance into Long Crendon Manor courtyard.
