Breakfast is an event at Hillthwaite. Start your day overlooking Windermere with continental options, a table served Cumbrian breakfast or one of the 'cooked to order' signature specials. The contemporary Poet's Bar is the perfect place for Afternoon Tea, unless the sun is shining and the outside terrace beckons. The bar, open from 11am to 11pm, is a lovely place to relax and you can choose between a range of coffees and teas, wines, local beers, spirits or non-alcoholic drinks. At Hillthwaite, there is a comprehensive 'dining out' list, with everything from traditional Lakeland pubs to Michelin Star quality. Knowledgeable staff will be on hand to guide you, or order you a taxi.

From junction 36 of M6 take A590 then A591 heading for Windermere. Follow A5074 through Windermere town centre heading for Bowness and the lake. Midway between Windermere and Bowness take a left turn off A5074 into Thornbarrow Road. Hillthwaite House is located up the hill on the right hand side.

Great hotel staff very friendly and helpful, gave us map and showed us some good walks. Rooms very nice, very clean and the beds very comfortable. We had great weather and the views were fantastic. Would definitely stay again.

The location of the hotel is excellent, situated high up with beautiful views and halfway between Windermere and Bowness on Windermere, within easy and convenient walking distance of both towns. Lovely hotel, great staff and amazing food. Dog was welcome too. Room was clean and comfy. Only downside was the courtyard light outside the window. Would recommend this hotel and will go back again.
