Overview

Heathcote offers a warm and relaxed welcome – to ensure guests enjoy their stay and unwind from the pressures of daily life amid the beauty of the surrounding area and Heathcote garden itself. Seating areas within our mature garden provide guests with tranquillity after days out, to enjoy a pot of tea or simply to relax and enjoy the exotic plants, trees, herbaceous borders and old English roses. Breakfast is served in the light and airy conservatory overlooking the gardens and landscaped patio. A 70 year old grape vine growing within the conservatory itself, provides shade on hot days, framed by a wall of jasmine and bougainvillea. On summer mornings, guests have the option of breakfast al fresco; comfortable seating and large shaded umbrella on the patio make this an experience to savour! All rooms at Heathcote have their own individual character; they are spacious and tastefully refurbished, with modern en-suite facilities, king size beds and high quality linen and towels. The guest lounge is large, with deep comfortable seating and a log/coal fire to add that extra cosiness for guests' enjoyment. Guests are welcome to use all reception rooms during their stay. Heathcote House is perfectly placed for exploring Dorset – a county famed for its outstanding natural beauty. Whether for exploring or cycling* the jurassic coastline, walking the Hardy trail or visiting the many and varied attractions, Heathcote House will ensure your stay is a memorable one. * (secure cycle storage and washing facilities available)

My wife and I stayed here on our wedding night as we had our reception a few miles away at Milton Abbey School. We really could not have found a better place to stay! From the time of booking Sue was excellent and made us feel like we had booked the right place. She went the extra mile and made the room extra special with little bits of confetti in the room (as well as on the breakfast table the following morning) and some cake on the side in case we didn't eat much at the wedding. We stayed in the Garden room which was very comfortable and had fantastic views over the garden in the morning. The breakfast was amazing, even though I had a hangover and couldn't eat much, the food that I did eat was top class! Tasty local produce cooked to perfection and fresh fruit from the garden. Sue was a perfect host and offered exceptional service and we would recommend this B&B to anyone who staying in the area. Thank you Sue for making us feel so welcome!

Heathcote House and its generous owner lived up to everything we had heard and read. We were warmly welcomed by the owner who helped carry our luggage to our room. The Garden Room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated and included fresh homemade biscuits. The en-suite shower room was large and modern. Breakfasts were beautifully cooked with a range of fresh juices, jams and other enticing items, such as fresh figs and yoghurt, on offer. We were always asked if there was anything else we required. I do not recommend places as a rule, but in this case I have no hesitation in suggesting that if you want to stay in a beautiful Dorset village then Heathcote House with its delightful owner is the place to stay

Heathcote House was an absolutely marvellous find, the breakfast was locally sourced, beautifully cooked and very tasty. You could not have found a nicer host. Sue went out of her way to ensure we had a brilliant stay. We had a guest room with open fire and comfy chairs, a garden room to have our breakfast in with lovely gardens to view & spotless rooms. It was the best guest house we have ever stayed in. You could not have bettered our 2 night stay. So thanks you Sue from all of us.

What a terrific find. A little piece of paradise. Sue is an amazing host. Amazing home made cakes and wonderful cooked breakfast, with huge portions. Sue is so attentive and has an eye for detail with everything. We have already booked for next year. I can't recommend Heathcote House highly enough. A real log fire greeted us on our arrival, on a horrible rainy day in September.

The whole stay from start to finish was amazing. We had a warm greeting from Kate, the room was fantastic and service equally as good. The food/coffee (on tap) was a truly mind blowing experience! Of note was the attention paid to my wife, (gluten free) was superb, attention to detail in every aspect of this B&B is outstanding.

We were stopping over on our way West and found this a perfect place for a night - tasteful, a perfect friendly hostess in Kate, super breakfast, all home cooked and made - we hope to return for another peaceful stay - and the added extra of a TV free, book filled lounge was great! A fantastic find, Sue was a wonderful host, accommodating, kind and her breakfasts were yummy and a good selection to choose from with locally sourced produce! Would recommend and stay again. Location is very good, 20-30mins to the coast and attractions.

Great location, gorgeous room, extremely friendly owner. Lovely touches in the room, homemade cake and very very comfortable bed. Great value for money. Ideal if visiting Durdledoor. Looking forward to visiting again.
