Overview

Grendon Bed & Breakfast is a recently renovated luxury bed & breakfast, located in the market town of Buxton, offering high class accommodation with a homely, personal touch. It's situated on a quiet lane approximately 15 minutes walk from the town centre, and with direct access to the Goyt Valley for stunning scenery and walks.

What makes a stay at Grendon Bed & Breakfast unique?

Grendon is a magnificent Edwardian house, built between 1911 and 1914. The owners have lovingly restored the house and it now provides large, bright guest rooms, mixing traditional furniture and original features with contemporary soft furnishings to rival most luxury hotel facilities. However, the owners pride themselves on providing warm hospitality and service to ensure the perfect stay in the Peak District.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at Grendon Bed & Breakfast?

Grendon Bed & Breakfast has four individually designed, first floor luxury ensuite rooms. Each room features high quality bedding and linen, silent fridge and complimentary tea tray, robes, slippers, hairdryer and hair straighteners, complimentary toiletries, freesat TV, radio/alarm clock and free WiFi. All the rooms have large walk-in showers and two rooms have free standing, double-ended roll top baths.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Buxton area?

Buxton is the perfect base to explore the Peak District. Several stately homes, including Chatsworth, are within half an hour's drive. The area is also renowned for its hiking and walking and trails can be accessed from Grendon itself or by going further afield. The town of Buxton is famous for its Opera House which hosts around 450 performances a year and is an iconic building in the town. There are many other architecturally impressive buildings in the town, most of them built due to the success of Buxton's water and thermal springs. The town also boasts two golf courses, including the Cavendish Golf Course, designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie of Augusta fame.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

Visitors to Buxton can choose from a wide variety of restaurants, inns and bars, with everything from Greek, French, Swiss, Thai and Indian food to good home-cooked pub grub. More recently, a few local craft beer bars have opened and a Gin bar. There is also a fantastic cocktail bar in the centre of town. There are numerous tea rooms and small cafes open during the day too. Grendon Bed & Breakfast has a good pub within a three minute walk, which serves food all day.

I cannot fault this B&B, it’s everything you would hope for, and then some. We had a very early start on the first morning of our stay and were fully prepared to forego breakfast, but no, Neil was on hand at 6.00am to give us a coffee before we left and hand us a takeaway bacon sandwich and more coffee for later. Our second morning was more relaxed so we had breakfast from the menu, which was excellent. I could also see from the options that other guests had ordered that anything we would have

Stayed here for a long weekend with a friend. The rooms are amazing, beds so comfy and bathrooms so spacious and well thought out. We had a lovely view of the rather impressive gardens. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming, with shortbread, hot drinks and bottled water provided every day, plus freshly baked cakes whenever we returned home in the afternoons. An excellent breakfast selection, and two very friendly cats to stop us missing ours! If I visit the area again, this is where I will st

Exquisite attention to detail throughout, very relaxing atmosphere and superbly managed by most welcoming owners Andie and Neil makes for what is by far and away the best B&B we’ve stayed in. Grendon is the ideal base for the Peak District, terrific accommodation and magnificent breakfasts get you started for a full day out and it was lovely to just ‘crash out’ in the evening or nip into Buxton and try one of the many varied cuisine restaurants. We are already planning a return visit in 2022

Everything about our stay was excellent. The Grendon is luxurious, spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable. Andie and Neil are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much for them. The food is excellent and plentiful. It was a very pleasant stay, and my wife and I highly recommend a stay here if you’re anywhere in the area

We had a wonderful stay at Grendon B&B celebrating our Ruby wedding anniversary. Spotlessly clean, amazing locally sourced breakfast and friendly helpful owners! We had homemade cakes every day and home baked shortbread in our room too. Would 100% recommend you stay here.

A beautiful house lovingly restored by Andie and Neil. Everywhere was spotless, the bed huge and comfy and the bathroom was a dream. Nothing was too much trouble and we were well catered for including home made cake. We would highly recommend this lovely house and it’s hosts
