Summary

Grendon Bed & Breakfast is a recently renovated luxury bed & breakfast, located in the market town of Buxton, offering high class accommodation with a homely, personal touch. It's situated on a quiet lane approximately 15 minutes walk from the town centre, and with direct access to the Goyt Valley for stunning scenery and walks.

What makes a stay at Grendon Bed & Breakfast unique?

Grendon is a magnificent Edwardian house, built between 1911 and 1914. The owners have lovingly restored the house and it now provides large, bright guest rooms, mixing traditional furniture and original features with contemporary soft furnishings to rival most luxury hotel facilities. However, the owners pride themselves on providing warm hospitality and service to ensure the perfect stay in the Peak District.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at Grendon Bed & Breakfast?

Grendon Bed & Breakfast has four individually designed, first floor luxury ensuite rooms. Each room features high quality bedding and linen, silent fridge and complimentary tea tray, robes, slippers, hairdryer and hair straighteners, complimentary toiletries, freesat TV, radio/alarm clock and free WiFi. All the rooms have large walk-in showers and two rooms have free standing, double-ended roll top baths.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Buxton area?

Buxton is the perfect base to explore the Peak District. Several stately homes, including Chatsworth, are within half an hour's drive. The area is also renowned for its hiking and walking and trails can be accessed from Grendon itself or by going further afield. The town of Buxton is famous for its Opera House which hosts around 450 performances a year and is an iconic building in the town. There are many other architecturally impressive buildings in the town, most of them built due to the success of Buxton's water and thermal springs. The town also boasts two golf courses, including the Cavendish Golf Course, designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie of Augusta fame.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

Visitors to Buxton can choose from a wide variety of restaurants, inns and bars, with everything from Greek, French, Swiss, Thai and Indian food to good home-cooked pub grub. More recently, a few local craft beer bars have opened and a Gin bar. There is also a fantastic cocktail bar in the centre of town. There are numerous tea rooms and small cafes open during the day too. Grendon Bed & Breakfast has a good pub within a three minute walk, which serves food all day.

One word :wow!
When we arrived early we were hoping we could leave our car and walk into town but then we were told our room was ready and could check in early which we did not expect.
The owners local knowledge was second
to none, they recommended walks, activities and restaurants.
The room was superb! Could not fault anything, freshly made biscuits, wide range of tea and coffee as well as an immaculate room.
The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The full English was 2 of everything and the breakfast special was so good I had it both mornings.
We hope to return in July next year for the comedy festival and will definitely be staying at this guest house again. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Welcomed warmly, we immediately felt "at home". We enjoyed having a cat around the place. This lovely house has been beautifully restored with great attention to detail by people who obviously love it and want to share it with their guests. All four generous bedrooms are beautifully furnished, with wonderful bathrooms, the thoughtful provision of slippers and bathrobes, wonderfully comfortable beds, and great views of the countryside (even through the rain). the room tray included excellent homemade shortbread biscuits, the dining room offering an extensive range of freshly prepared (pre-ordered) breakfasts, and home made cakes are available in the afternoon. Thank you, both of you, for a most restorative few days away. Nothing was too much trouble, all our needs anticipated. After a few days, we left feeling as if we were family! Thank you, we shall be visiting again!.

This is the second time I have stayed at Grendon this year, I had previously stayed with friends on a golfing trip. I had told my wife how good my stay was and decided to stop with her on our way up north to visit her mother in Newcastle. My wife was very impressed from the moment we arrived when we were offered a cup of tea and home made cakes, everything from the rooms, beds bedding and bathroom are of excellent quality. The breakfast choice covers all tastes and is very well presented. Neil and Andi are excellent hosts and nothing is to much trouble whether it is recommending local restaurants or trips to fill your days. We will definitely be back again.

Neil and Andie made us most welcome with homemade cake and a cuppa when we arrived. Very comfortable night's sleep. A silent fridge with water and milk for tea/coffee making, even homemade shortbread biscuits!
Breakfast excellent, with lots of choice and a special on Sunday.

Plenty to do, well worth taking the Tram tour, visiting the museum, and the curry at the Taj Mahal was very good.

We have just stayed two nights at this fantastic place, just a 10 minute stroll to town.

Everything was 1st class. Lovely large, light and beautifully furnished rooms/ bathrooms, wonderful views, large gardens, a great breakfast to set you up for the day.

If your looking to stay in Buxton, it would be very hard to top this.

Thanks again Neil and Andie, we hope to see you again soon.

We stayed at the Grendon B&B for a three night break to take in the RHS Chatsworth flower show and do some walking. Everything was excellent from the start, with a warm welcome from Andie and Neil, (lovely tea and homemade cake to settle us in!) and a top quality room. As others have mentioned the house has been lovingly and carefully restored and the attention to detail is evident throughout. We stayed in the Errwood room which we loved, good size, beautiful bathroom with clawfoot bath and walk in shower, and a fantastic view over the moors and Burbage edge. In the room was a silent fridge,so we could have fresh milk in our tea -a lovely touch, much appreciated with the home made cookies! Breakfast was expertly cooked and served and both Andie and Neil were friendly and helpful, with advice on walking and visiting the town, which is a pleasant 15 minute stroll down the road and through the park.Thank you for a lovely stay.We hope to return.

Stayed in this beautifully restored Buxton home for 2 nights. EVERYTHING was great, from the room to the breakfast to the location (walking distance to town), and especially the 2 delightful owners, Andie and Neil. I would highly recommend.

Grendon B&B has recently been opened after an extensive renovation, which has been carried out to the highest standards.

The retained character of the property, luxury furniture, attention to detail & extremely warm welcome from the new owners made my stay a real pleasure.

This is now my ‘go to’ place to stay whenever I am in Buxton & I will definitely be returning.

Neil and Andie are great hosts and very welcoming. On arrival we were greeted with delicious, fresh, home baked shortbread and muffins - the perfect start to our weekend away.
We stayed in the Errwood room, with its wonderful view across the Peaks. It was lovely to sit up in bed each morning with a cup of tea made with fresh milk from the silent fridge and admire the scenery.
We look forward to our next visit.

Myself and a group of friends stayed at this B&B for 2 nights while we played two of the local golf courses. (Cavendish and High Peak) The B&B is in a place of outstanding beauty and this was very apparent initially from drive up, and then from looking out of my bedroom window over the rolling hills to the rear of the property. (Errwood)

The bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms are very spacious and the finish to them is of a very high standard. The beds are large and extremely comfortable. There is a tv and fridge in the room, togethe with some personal touches which included fresh flowers, home made shortbread and fresh milk for your tea.

Neil and Andie who run Grendon were very gracious hosts. They were happy to provide recommendations for local eateries of which there were plenty, albeit it is advisable to book in advance. We ate out of an evening and took the 10 min walk into the town through the beautiful Pavillion Gardens. We also ventured to the local pub (Duke) which is just a minutes walk away.

The breakfast of a morning was cooked to order having been sourced locally. The homemade blueberry muffins were a nice touch.

We had a wonderful stay and I would not hesitate to recommend this place to friends and family and look forwaard to returning again in the future.

I have just returned home after spending three nights at the Grendon B & B what a great place the best B & B i have stayed in. From the minute you arrive you are made most welcome by Neil and Andie. The property is in a great location, just a short scenic walk in to the centre of Buxton. I stayed in the Derwent which is a large double to the front of the property with large ensuite the room has recently been refurbished but retaining many of the original features. There is a tv and fridge in the room. I liked the idea of fresh milk for the tea and Andie`s great homemade short bread. There is a great choice for breakfast and Neil`s full English will set you up for the day. I am looking forward to returning with my wife in the future and would certainly recommend this place to family and friends.

The location was first class for people wishing to tour the peak district or play golf; Cavendish Golf Club is within easy reach.

The Grendon genuinely wants you to enjoy your stay and goes that extra mile to ensure you do. The owners were exceptional and nothing is too much trouble, very friendly, helpful and courteous. The bedroom was superb as was breakfast: we will definitely stay again.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful bed and breakfast for a week. It was immaculate. The bath was luxurious. The bed was huge and so comfy. Andie and Neil are gracious hosts and made us feel so welcome. It is located in a lovely quiet area within walking distance of downtown. The breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. We would highly recommend Grendon Bed & Breakfast and can’t wait to visit again.

We stayed for a weekend to walk in the Peak District. I have never stayed in a B&B so comfortable and welcoming. The rooms are large, and well appointed. The showers actually work and one doesn’t need to be an engineer to get them started, which is not a given in England. Breakfasts and packed lunches were excellent. I intend to visit again.
