We have just returned from the tranquil, peaceful and perfect haven that is Eighteen97. This B&B is unique and like no other because the wonderful hosts Tim and Fiona go above and beyond to ensure that your stay is wonderful in every way. From the three beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean rooms to choose from; the wonderfully relaxing lounge where you are served tea and homemade cake on arrival and are free to browse local information and a great selection of magazines and of course the gorgeous garden which you are encouraged to explore with stunning sweeping views of the north Yorkshire moors. We looked forward to returning to our gorgeous 'Vivaldi' room after a long walk on the moors to discover that another delicious homemade treat was waiting for us. They even provide a boot wash station outside the property very handy after a long walk. You are provided with fresh milk everyday in a flask that has been chilled and guests are welcome to use the mini fridge which is very helpful. We had the most wonderful and deeply relaxing stay. Goathland is such a friendly village lots of walking opportunities so was nice to have the option of not driving for a few days. Alternatively there are some lovely villages that you can drive to or catch the north Yorkshire moors railway which is only a 10 min walk away. Tim and Fiona are always happy to give useful information on walking routes and great pubs in the area. Our Vivaldi Room had the most comfortable bed with beautiful views of the moors. The ensuite was fantastic, lovely shower and temple spa toiletries provided. There was a tv + dvd player great for relaxing evenings and there is free superfast wifi available at all times. You are spoilt for choice at breakfast. Everything is delicious and locally produced. There is a blackboard listing three different specials as well as cooked breakfasts, and fresh fruit salad, cereal and juices and free flowing toast, tea and coffee. Nothing is too much trouble for Tim and Fiona. We will definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you so much for making our stay so wonderful.

Have just returned from a two day break at 1897 and are already planning a return visit. From arriving to leaving we had a fantastic experience. The building is a beautiful traditional stone house in the centre of the village which has been renovated lovingly to a very high standard. The decor is beautiful and very stylish whilst not over the top so you feel uncomfortable! We loved the lounge/dining area which overlooked the pretty garden filled with birds and wildlife to watch. The owners Tim and Fiona were fantastic friendly hosts and have put a lot of time and thought into what guests might like or need and have really gone that extra mile. There are lots of useful leaflets and walking guides available to borrow as well as magazines and an honesty box for additional snacks and chocolates. Our room was the Elgar which was stunning. It had a small tv lounge with a coffee machine and tea tray, flat screen tv and DVD player and there were always little treats to have with your drink and even a pair of wine glasses so you could bring your own bottle to enjoy. The bedroom area was again beautifully designed and luxurious with superb white cotton linen and soft pillows and duvet. There was a lovely dressing area for ladies to do their hair. The bathroom was also super stylish and clean with lovely thick and large fluffy towels and really nice fragranced toiletries. Absolutely everything has been thought about to make a cosy luxury stay! To top this off breakfast was absolutely amazing. The choice of specials and cooked breakfast was lovely and there was a range of home made cereal and jams as well as juices and cordial. There was a choice of coffee and tea at the table and you could choose when to have your toast. Nothing was too much trouble and was served with a smile and friendly chat! We couldn't have had a better stay and had a fabulous relaxed time. A real birthday treat! Thank you!

We have recently returned from another stay at this prestigious and beautiful B&B. To be frank, my calling it a B&B does it no justice. If this were a hotel, it would be a luxury hotel, up their with the best. The place is beautiful and spotless. The surrounding countryside is simply stunning. The owners, Fiona and Tim are wonderful, so friendly and accommodating. We have been staying with them for a number of years now and consider them to be friends above all else, but friends who we envy for having such a lovely home. The bedrooms are all en suite and are luxurious, sumptuously comfortable and well equipped. That's the first “B” taken care of (I could go on,but...). The second “B”, the breakfast, is even better. If you enjoy your food, you're in for a treat. Fiona's breakfasts are legendary, being exceptional in quality and quantity. Don't expect to find breakfasts of this quality very often in your life! Husband Tim is the perfect host, making sure everything you want is brought to you promptly and piping hot. You won't want for anything, you'll even have a good laugh as Tim relates one or two of his many amusing anecdotes whilst he attends to your culinary needs. Thoroughly recommended, without an iota of hesitation. Book today!!

We recently stayed at Tim and Fiona's beautiful B&B and from the moment we arrived, we didn't want to leave! We only stayed for 1 night and wished we could have stayed longer - we are certainly planning a return visit! Tim and Fiona are wonderful hosts - they made us feel so welcome from the start, greeting us with a pot of tea and homemade cake. They also helped us with choosing a late afternoon walk; a great choice of walk it was too! Our room, Vivaldi, was beautifully designed, spotless and with great views of the garden and moorland beyond. The extra little touches really made the stay feel perfect such as the flapjack, humbugs and bottled, filtered tap water made available in the room. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and again the service provided was excellent. Before leaving, we were also lucky enough to meet Fiona and Tim's gorgeous dog, Florence. Another warm welcome given! We'll definitely be back for another stay. Thank you! Lindsey and David

Fiona and Tim have thought of everything and their B and B is spot on! From the welcoming pot of tea/coffee and homemade cake on arrival to the extensive breakfast choice each morning not forgetting the flapjack and other sweets waiting in our room. All delicious and cooked to perfection. The Vivaldi room was excellent, lovely decoration, comfortable bedding and towels, exceptionally clean (as was the whole place) with a fabulous view over the garden and beyond. Fiona and Tim are the perfect hosts, pleasant, approachable with a wealth of local knowledge and readily shared ideas for getting the most from our visit to Goathland and surrounding area. The whole place has a warm and cosy feel making it very difficult to leave!

We have just returned from another wonderful visit at Eighteen97. Fiona and Tim definitely make you feel at home in their wonderful boutique b&b. We stopped in the Elgar suite on this visit, completing a stay in every room now. The room is lovely, as are all the others, with a great view over moor to the front of the property. Breakfast is to die for, with so much choice on offer, served by the ever so delightful Tim. We were snowed into the village on this visit, so the addition of the sofa to sit and chill out was great. Can't wait for our next visit for New Year.

It is as everyone says, welcoming, exceptional, beautiful, quiet, sparkly clean with the most attentive hosts. We really wanted to keep it a secret so we can book whenever we want! Tim and Fiona really know how to look after you from the comfy beds and pillows, delicious breakfasts to the nice cakes and goodies in the room as well as guiding us for our walks and exploring the area. Wonderful attention to detail.
