Church Lodge

An incredibly warm welcome from Martin & Nicky along with home-made scrumptious fruit cake & a pot of tea on arrival. What a truly lovely couple they are along with Roxy their adorable Husky who simply loves cuddles and we just couldn't help but oblige. The B&B was spotless, room impeccable, comfy bed, dressing gowns, great bathroom / shower and Loo with a great selection of toiletries all topped off with glossy magazines, wide screen TV and a CD Player with a great choice in music. In a perfect location close to walking and/or cycling routes, we were even offered the use of their Bikes. With well maintained gardens surrounded at the back by trees you can listen to the breeze rustling through the trees whilst watching a selection of birds going about their business. With the full use of their garden furniture it was lovely just sitting outside in the evening enjoying the last rays of the sun whilst enjoying a cold glass of wine; simple perfection. We've only just got back but we're already planning to go back at the end of summer, it really is that good. As well seasoned B&B'ers ourselves we've been to some wonderful places and met some lovely people all over the UK and Martin & Nicky are definitely up there with the very, very best.

We have travelled for business and pleasure over many years and I can honestly say that Nicky and Martin are the best hosts that we have ever met; they work the magic of getting you into the rhythm of life in this locality and making guests feel like friends in a very short time. Martin was incredibly helpful with suggestions for walks, bike rides, where to eat etc and soon got us clued into some of the best things about the area. Church Lodge is in the heart of the village, next to the cricket pitch, and it is a delight to sit in the garden with a book and cup of tea. It is a pleasant stroll to the harbour and only a short way from Chichester. It is hard to put a finger on any one reason as to why Church Lodge is such a pleasant place to be but maybe it is simply down to the charm and skills of Nicky and Martin. We stayed for five days - thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and went away refreshed

What an amazing find! We spent 4 nights at Church Lodge and have never enjoyed such wonderful hospitality anywhere. Martin and Nicky are so friendly and welcoming, we immediately felt like part of the family. Our room and bathroom were luxurious with some lovely personal touches. Nothing was too much trouble to meet all our needs, from suggesting places to eat, to offering to collect us from one of our walks if we needed a lift back. Thank you Martin and Nicky for making our stay in this lovely area so enjoyable. We hope to return. Joyce and John.

We had a wonderful two night stay which exceeded all expectations. Martin and Nikki are kind and thoughtful hosts, who go out of their way to make you feel at home and looked after. The room we stayed in is very pretty and clean, with a tv, sound system, stocked fridge and a very comfy bed. We had a private pilates lesson with Nikki which was fantastic, and we would highly recommend. Thank you both so much.

Martin and Nicky are fantastic hosts who made us feel so welcome! The room was beautifully decorated with flowers and fresh soaps, you really felt well looked after and special whilst staying. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a short break from city life.
