The Channel View is a small Boutique Hotel, on an award-winning beach in the heart of the English Riviera. Recently renovated to a very high standard, the Channel View is renowned for its stunning, panoramic views of the whole of Torbay. At the Channel View Hotel, guests enjoy a made to order breakfast, cooked by Ruth using fresh local ingredients, and of course, free range eggs. It's served in the coastal-themed dining room overlooking the beach and the gorgeous sea-views. The beautiful new conservatory or cute little terrace make the perfect way to pass a few hours at any time of day, with a lovely chilled drink from the well-stocked bar, watching the ever-changing scenery, whatever the weather. A ten minute flat walk will take guests to either Paignton or Torquay, so leave the car behind in the free car park, and there's an amazing bus service right on the doorstep to explore the whole of the English Riviera.
What are the rooms and facilities on offer at Channel View Boutique Hotel?
There are 12 individually designed bedrooms, including a cosy Standard double, newly refurbished Deluxe rooms with lovely features such as USB charging points beside the bed, and the exceptional Superior rooms which have huge, amazing walk-in rainfall showers, large LED Smart TVs with Netflix, fluffy dressing gowns and your very own Nespresso coffee machine. Furnished to a very high standard, there are 2 singles, but most rooms are double or kingsize, and 8 of these have an amazing sea view. 2019 has seen the introduction of a stunning, new sea view suite.
All rooms have beds made with crisp, white Egyptian Cotton, super comfortable memory foam mattresses, and goose down duvets and pillows (hypoallergenic alternatives are also available).
Each of the rooms at the Channel View are named after some of the many beautiful coves and beaches in the bay, and adorned with a collection of photos by local Torbay photographer Chris Slack, to match. Guests will find lovely touches, like their very own supply of tea and coffee, fresh milk and drinking water and of course, fresh milk and homemade cookies.
What can guests enjoy when staying in the Paignton area?
Ideally located in the heart of the English Riviera, the Channel View is within easy reach of many attractions, watersports, boat trips, and fishing. Beaches, coves and the famous steam railway are all close by, along with historical sites like Agatha Christie's Greenway and museums, theatres and the world famous fish market at Brixham. The South West Coastal Path is right outside, and there are many gorgeous walks. Small local shops are around the corner, and larger shops are all within easy travelling distance. There are many local festivals, regattas and events throughout the year, and situated half way between Torquay and Paignton the Channel View probably has the best view of the Torbay Airshow, held in June each year. Peter and Ruth have a wealth of local information to help guests plan their itinerary.
Where can guests enjoy food and drink?
As well as the delicious breakfast served each morning, guests can also book a home-cooked evening meal each evening, using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The English Riviera is filled with wonderful independent restaurants and pubs, which often feature seafood bought fresh that morning from the local Brixham fish market. After a long day exploring Torbay, guests often want to relax in the hotel bar or conservatory in the evenings, meeting and making new friends, with a drink from the well-stocked bar. Alternatively, Peter & Ruth will be happy to steer them in the direction of recommended pubs, restaurants and bistros within walking distance, or a short drive away.
