Overview

Carrick's at Castle Farm is an award winning guest house located on the banks of the River Wensum in Swanton Morley, Dereham, Norfolk. It has been the home of the Carrick family for almost 100 years and the guest house is at the heart of the family farm, which comprises 550 acres of arable and grassland. The farm has a Pennyspot herd of 40 Rare Breed White Park cows and their calves together with the de Morley herd of Lincoln Red Cattle. The guest house is open all year round and provides everything you require for a comfortable and relaxing stay. All rooms are furnished to a high standard.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at Carrick's at Castle Farm?

Carrick's guests can choose between five individually designed double en-suite bedrooms. There are also two self-catering cottages available at Castle Farm. The living room has a wide open fire, much like any reception area, perfect to relax before and after dinner. It has antique furnishings, vintage family portraits and comfortable sofas. The restaurant looks out over the lawn that descends to the Wensum River. In the summer you can also serve drinks and tea in the backyard, which is also a great place for sunsets.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Dereham area?

Carrick's is a great place from which to explore Norfolk, from the wide open beaches in the north of the county, to the special heathland and forests in the south. The guest house has an agreement with Natural England, which allows them to offer guests an insight into the stunning beauty of the special area, with a series of inter-connecting permissive footpaths enabling visitors to find peace and quiet.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

Sample the best local produce as part of a typical farmhouse breakfast or a tasty evening meal that focuses on high quality ingredients and home cooking, where the country's taste is better than the farm. Carrick Castle Farm is extremely proud of its breakfast and delighted to have won the prestigious standard breakfast award from Visit England.
