Overview

Netherwood Lodge, is a delightful rural retreat close to the A22. Fantastic place to stay for visitors to Glyndebourne, National Trust, walking or coast. Delicious homemade fare has resulted in the Sussex Breakfast Award and breakfast is served in the family dining room overlooking the glorious garden, which is open with the National Garden Scheme to the public for charity. Both bedrooms are individual and elegant with fresh flowers, lamps and Egyptian cotton linen for comfort and luxury. Many extra touches. Excellent local pub within walking distance. Guests return to be welcomed and have booked early to be 10 minutes by car from Glynebourne. Local pub and church within walking distance.

Reviews

As an ex-pat, I always plan my visit to the UK (from USA) to allow time to stay at Netherwood Lodge - this is the 5th time and it never dissapoints me. Genial hostess, fab breakfasts, very well appointed accommodation, gorgeous garden etc. I am able to 'become English' again. Thoroughly, thoroughly recommend it and I will plan to return.

Mrs Clarke gave us a very warm welcome and is a very hospitable hostess. The bedroom and bathroom was spotlessly clean and comfortable and the cooked breakfast is the best! Her garden is beautiful and the situation and atmosphere is quiet, warm and welcoming. Cannot praise Netherwood Lodge enough.

Genuinely warm welcome by a splendid hostess. Comfortable and very well appointed double room, spotless bathroom. Good breakfast with homemade yoghurt, bread and marmalade. Beautiful national garden scheme gardens - superb roses and herbaleous border. I cannot praise this place too highly.

This was a perfect place to stay, quiet, beautiful environment. The house overlooks a charming well tended garden and is well appointed in every way. The breakfast is delicious, fresh and home baked bread. A friendly welcome and good advice.

I got a really warm welcome and felt completely at home. That is part of the best moments in my trip. It is like feeling like a part of the family. Nice to be spoilt. Margaret is a very nice lady, full of energy and quite inspiring!

A wonderfully hospitable host welcomed us into an immaculate yet cosy home complete with log fire and home made cake. A beautiful B&B in a lovely area with lots to see. A great find.
