Overview

Just within the English side of the Welsh Borders, Huntington Court is set in 17 acres of woodland and gardens. It overlooks farmland and is flanked by Hergest Ridge to the North, the Malvern Hills to the East, the Brecon Beacons to the South and Offer's Dyke to the West. The house is nine miles from Hay-on-Wye and four miles from Kington with two luxury bed and breakfast rooms tucked away in the west wing. The village of Huntington was recorded in the Domesday book in 1086 as Hantinetune, 'The Homestead of the Huntsmen'. Huntington Court was first called Huntington Lodge, but in the 1840's was redeveloped with a Georgian extension and renamed.

I was walking the borders and Fiona walked out to meet me as I was nearing their home, such a lovely welcome! Boots off, wet clothes drying clothes washed! I immediately felt like I was more like a friend of the family staying than a paying guest. The rooms are gorgeous, the bed I described in the morning as "a cloud" as it's ridiculously comfortable. I had a lovely meal in the evening and fresh home grown eggs in the morning. Met the pigs, chickens and saw the old castle. Just wish I had had longer to stay. Can't recommend enough. If your walking offa's this is a perfect place to astray as it's just off the track by 10 mins or so - well worth the detour!

A beautiful house in a gorgeous part of the countryside. We stayed in the house and had a massive comfortable and very private room. Fiona also showed us the delightful cottage, absolutely the perfect getaway with views across the gardens to the village church or over to the Malvern Hills in the other direction. If you don't know this part of the world I would recommend it, it's real countryside, clear dark skies at night, no traffic and wonderful views. Fiona was very friendly and helpful it was only a shame we could not stay longer. Thank you Fiona!

The best!!! Fiona's warmth and charm compliments the very comfortable & cosy Huntington Court. We had a wedding in Kington last weekend which Fiona so kindly rendered her services as our designated driver, only, not to enjoy the party herself! (Thank you so so much) We also came home with a delicious jar of warm apricot jam. Very lucky find and loved every minute. Highly recommend. X

An idyllic one-night stay in lovely Herefordshire countryside. The room was peaceful, very comfortable and Fiona was an exceptionally considerate of us being out at a friend's bonfire until late. Tea, biscuits and water in the room and a great homemade breakfast. A short weekend away felt like a real holiday with everything perfect, 10/10.

This is a really marvellous place to stay. Fiona, the owner , is a hugely kind and welcoming hostess and presides over a house full of comfort and character. Delicious breakfasts with home-made jam , and eggs still warm from the chickens. How could that be bettered?!
