Stoke-on-Trent in the area known as the potteries is still the main centre today for the production of ceramics by such famous names as Wedgewood, Spode and Royal Doulton. The city was originally formed by the amalgamation of six separate towns. The Peak District National Park is only 10 miles away and is well know for its attraction for walkers and climbers.
