It is easily found by following directions to Aberfoyle; the main drive up to the house is accessed from the A81. Complimentary transfers are provided from/to Stirling train station (at set times).

Gartmore House offers a variety of residential craft and activity breaks led by expert, friendly tutors. Examples include patchwork & quilting, knitting & crochet, watercolour painting or mixed media, introductory hill walking, sewing, lace making, art cloth doll making, willow weaving, photography, corsetry, eco-printing and indigo dyeing, greenwood spoon carving and Christmas crafts. Hogmanay breaks are also available. Courses are suitable for all levels. Stay in a charming en-suite room and enjoy full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) as well as tea and coffee and sweet treats. 5-Night (or more) courses include an optional visit to Loch Katrine (with one hour cruise) or The Scottish Wool Centre in Aberfoyle (transport is provided). Holidays range from 2-Night weekend breaks, to 5 or 6-Night Holidays.

Located in Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, the area boasts plenty of mountains, lochs and glens to explore on foot, by bike, boat or car. Favourites include tranquil Loch Katrine with its steamship, the scenic drive over Duke's Pass and the Three Lochs Drive, and ferry rides on Loch Lomond. The city of Stirling with its historic castle and the Wallace Monument is around a 30 minute drive to the east (approx. 20 miles), and the vibrant city of Glasgow (with its museums and shopping 'style mile') is around a 50 mins drive to the south (approx. 25 miles). Edinburgh is approx. 42 miles away and can be reached by train from Stirling. Several distilleries are close by. Visitors can also enjoy exploring the grounds of Gartmore Estate, which span 75 acres.
