Overview

Blenheim Palace is a majestic country house situated in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, England. This is the primary residence of the Dukes of Marlborough and the first non-royal, non-episcopal country house in England to bear the status of palace. The palace, one of England's largest buildings, was constructed between 1705 and 1722 and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.

Details on what activities are available at Blenheim Palace?

The palace stays the residence of the Dukes of Marlborough, the present title holder being Charles James (Jamie) Spencer-Churchill, 12th Duke of Marlborough. Charles James acquired the Dukedom on the death of his father on 16 October 2014.

As of October 2016, the Marlboroughs also have to give the Monarch a replica of the French Royal Flag on the anniversary of the Battle of Blenheim as a rent for the ground on which the Blenheim Palace sits.

The building, park and gardens are open to the public, and the isolation of tourist attractions (Pleasure Gardens) from the building guarantees that the feel of a large country house is preserved. The palace is connected to the gardens via a minature railway.
