Reviews

Did the paperweight course on a Saturday morning, and you can tell that this experience is popular as we had to book eight weeks in advance. Our tutors for the session were Harry and Aaron, and they both exuded such passion about glass making, that it couldn't do anything other than rub off on to you...truly infectious! They keep the class sizes small, so you can expect a lot of one to one tuition. Health and safety was explained in detail at the start of the course and these boys know their stuff. We were then shown how to gather the molten glass, and shape using various tools. A quick stop for coffee and a look in the shop for inspiration and then we were good to go. I went for a 'simple' (it's not that simple) flower design with a big bubble in the middle. My husband went for a swirly design using two internal colours and an applied glaze on the outside. There was some time to spare at the end, so Harry showed us how to make a vase and a glass cat figurine (both of which we have purchased as a momento of our wonderful experience). This really was a magical experience...the smells in the workshop, the heat from the furnace and the joy of making our own glassware will live with us for a very long time! I would recommend to anybody. I shall be signing up for the bead making course next and maybe an advanced course after that!

Every time I am in Bath, I have to stop here and buy another piece or two! The shop has moved and is now across the square from the Roman Baths. The workshop is now in the shop. You can watch the stained glass artists at work as you shop. The staff are very friendly and will explain what minerals are used to colour the glass. If you are looking for a unique gift or a souvenir that represents Bath, consider a piece of Bath Aqua glass. They will package it very well. They also offer tax-free shopping for non-EU residents.

For the last few years we've gone to Bath Aqua Glass to blow a bauble with our son and a friend. It allows you to have a lovely keepsake for future. It is also interesting to see the glass blowing been done by professionals. Book as early as you can though as they only have a few spots per session for making your own bauble. You can ask the team in the shop near the Abbey of there are space on the day too. They also do other creative events so it is worth giving them a call to see what else is on offer.

Just got back from the glass blowing experience day at the Theatre of Glass. I can't recommend it highly enough, everything was perfect, the staff were enthusiastic (and so patient). We were all given as much time as we needed and loads of encouraging feedback. I cant wait to see the finished tealight holder when it arrives. The whole morning was great fun and will definitely be back to try some of the other courses you run. Excellent value for money

You have to book for this if you want to guarantee a place. Luckily for us, some people who had booked didn't turn up so we took their place. You pay extra to blow the glass yourself, which I don't think is worth it because you literally blow down the tube while the technician does the difficult bit at the other end. The demo lasted about an hour and was very informative. A lively guy did our demo and made it interesting and fun.

On stopping for a few hours in Bath, we visited Bath Aqua Glass shop just off Abbey Square. Such wonderful lovely gifts of all shapes and colours. We bought gifts for our two daughters and even jewellery for their children. The staff were very helpful. Great value for money. Thank you for helping us having such lovely gfts back home to Malta.

If you are looking for something a little different then this is well worth a visit. We did the 'Breath in a Bauble' tour and it was really fun and informative. The glassblowers are very friendly and will answer all questions whilst showing you their amazing skills. A highly enjoyable family activity.

Myself, wife and our new son William visited the glass workshop on our trip to Bath. William watched his first ever glass blowing session and he's loved it. All the staff are lovely, and coming here was the highlight of our Bath trip.

Just off of Abbey Square. A jewel-box of a shop. The staff were enthusiastic and very engaging. Custom work available. Great value.
