Set in the vibrant Devonshire Quarter of Sheffield city centre, Spa 1877 is housed in the original Glossop Road Baths. Founded in 1877, Building News reported ‘New Turkish baths, considered the finest in the kingdom, have just been opened in Victoria Street… the interior is lavishly fitted with tessellated pavements, white and coloured glazed brick walls, arched and decorated ceilings, marble and felt covered seats.’ As a result Spa 1877 uniquely and elegantly combines Victorian architecture with modern luxuries, offering a beautiful setting in which you can enjoy an authentic experience which has been celebrated here for over 100 years. The traditional Bathing experience takes you on a gentle journey of heating and cooling your body which offers the benefit of improving circulation, expelling toxins, boosting the immune system and softening the skin.
