The Sportsmans Arms is surrounded by Moors, famous for their grouse, woods, streams, rivers and Gouthwaite Reservoir, with its wild brown trout. It is a heaven for the sportsman or tourist alike. The twelve bedrooms consist of double or twin beds, some with antique four poster beds, either within the main hotel or in the stable or barn, which are situated some thirty yards away in the Hotel grounds. The restaurant serves a variety of fish, including Turbot, Halibut, Sole and Woof plus Lobster, Crab and Prawns which are delivered daily from Whitby. Local beef, Lamb and Pork together with a variety of superb game, whilst in season are carefully prepared for your enjoyment in the calm, softly lit dining room.
