The Peat Inn is owned by award winning Chef and columnist Geoffrey Smeddle and his wife Katherine. With Geoffrey at the heart of the kitchen and Katherine's warmth and care filling the restaurant, they have been successful in building on the very fine reputation of one of Scotland's most cherished destinations. The inn has existed on this spot since the 1700s. Three small dining rooms make up the Michelin starred restaurant, providing an intimate setting for lunch or dinner. The Reception Lounge with its deep sofas and open log fire, creates an atmosphere which is elegant and refined and made all the more enjoyable by the friendly and attentive service. A few steps from the restaurant is The Residence where eight individually designed luxury suites offer the opportunity for a rather special night away, where the pleasures of the table spill over into a charming overnight setting.

| Local directions: | From Edinburgh follow the signs for the Forth road bridge. This takes you on to the M90, follow this to Junction 2A, take the A92 and follow the signs for Kirkcaldy and St Andrews. Continue on this road until you come to a roundabout. Take the 3rd exit from this roundabout and continue to the next roundabout where you follow the A915 signposted Leven. Keep on the A915 through Leven to Upper Largo having passed through Lundin Links. In Upper Largo the A915 goes off to the left - signposted Largoward and St Andrews. A mile of so along this road, take the B941 – signposted Peat Inn and Cupar – the Inn is about 1.5 miles along this road on the left. |
