The Old Rectory Hotel
The Old Rectory hotel was built in the early 1800s for the rector of Martinhoe's 11th century church. The house has been sympathetically restored and extended over the years and is now a beautiful country house hotel, nestling in a naturally protected hollow approached down a leafy lane. There are nine delightful en suite bedrooms overlooking the gardens and grounds; two on the ground floor and seven on the first floor. All bathrooms have recently been refurbished and The Heddon Suite has distant views across the sea to Wales. The Old Rectory has an excellent reputation for fine food and wine. Dinner is served by candlelight in the stylish dining room with friendly informal service. Afternoon tea and drinks are served in the sitting room and garden - both are superb.
