The Leathes Head


The Leathes Head is a pretty Edwardian country house hotel built of local slate and situated in two and a half acres of lovely grounds. Set in the heart of Borrowdale 'the most beautiful valley in England' - the hotel is set back from the road in an elevated position with magnificent views. The recently refurbished bedrooms are properly comfortable and fresh whilst still retaining the charm and elegance of a bygone age. All have delightful open outlooks over the surrounding fells, most with views of the lake. The award winning chef produces everything from fresh fish dishes to spicey vegetarian curries.
