Local directions: Whether you are travelling from North, South, East, or West, the place to begin the final part of your journey, to The Rock Inn, is the Drum Bridges Junction on the A38, from either carriageway. From here take the A382 signposted Bovey Tracey and Mortonhampstead and follow this road over the first roundabout. At the second roundabout, turn left, marked Haytor, Widecombe and Becky Falls (B338) and follow this road until you reach a fork. Take the left turn marked Haytor, Widecombe and follow this road through. The road will narrow and finally enter the Dartmoor National Park over a cattle grid. (Please observe the 40 mph speed limit on Dartmoor.) Continue along this road for approximately 1 mile, until you reach a grey granite building directly at the side of the road, on a bend, this will be your cue to signal left. Look for an old style red telephone box in a small patch of grass, the road you require is just before this. Pass over a cattle grid then immediately turn left, signposted to the Rock Inn and Haytor Vale. Carry on down this road and follow the bend in the road to the right, The Rock Inn will be directly in front of you on your left.
