Highfield Hotel & Restaurant

Highfield hotel in Keswick was built in the late 1880’s as two private residences using local Borrowdale slate from only a few miles away. Beautifully proportioned, and ideally situated to take advantage of the magnificent lake and mountain views, it incorporates many features for which the Victorians were famous – balconies, turrets, bay windows, a veranda for your pre-dinner drink and a converted chapel. All have been thoughtfully restored and refurbished yet still maintain an original homely feeling. The excellent restaurant uses the best local produce and the handmade fudge is particularly tempting.
