Spekes House provides a coastal self-catering retreat for those who appreciate the picturesque landscapes and surfing beaches of North Devon. The house is a short walk from both a beach and a waterfall, together with cliff top walks in an area of the Hartland Peninsula that has been designated for its outstanding natural beauty. Spekes House is a stone cottage with south-facing views, its own garden and paddock, while inside features include an ornamental fireplace, both a utility room and a study with a writing desk and a piano, one king-sized double bed and an oil-fired Aga to allow for the best prepared meals.

Local directions:	From Bideford take the A39 towards Bude. Turn right off the A39, signposted to Hartland. Proceed through the village of Hartland and follow signs to Stoke. As you enter the hamlet of Stoke turn sharp left immediately before the red telephone box, signposted Elmscott. Continue up this lane for about 3/4 mile and turn right at Newton crossroads signposted Elmscott. Follow this lane for about 3/4 mile to a crossroads. Go straight-over past the dead-end sign, signposted Kernstone. Continue to the end of the lane. The left hand gate opens to the driveway of Spekes House
