Brackenhill Tower is full of history and romance and stands unique as being the only Scottish peel tower remaining on English soil. Right on the border with Scotland and just 6 miles from the Wedding capital of Gretna Green. Dating back to the 16th century and standing in its own grounds, this unique property combines luxury self catering accommodation with authentic 16th century castle living. Ther are two self contained properties, The Tower House & The Jacobean Cottage which can be hired individually or together for the larger gatherings. Both units are well appointed and perfect for exploring the surrounding countryside.

Top 5 Self-Catering Properties for Christmas by Kate Simon

"The only Scottish peel tower on English territory could provide a historic setting for your Christmas celebrations. This chunk of 16th-century castle, sleeping 10, can be booked along with the neighbouring 17th-century Jacobean Cottage to house a total of 16 guests. And there’s no worry about bringing everyone together for Christmas dinner - the tower has a Great Hall, with a banqueting table big enough to seat 18."
