The Old Manor Cottage is quintessential Cotswolds through and through. Fairytale thatched, it's in a quiet corner of the village in landscaped grounds that roll towards the River Stour. Past the oak door of this 17th century, grade II dwelling you'll come across a glowing fire in the brightly beamed lounge, rammed with comfy seating and soft rug, and a gleaming country style kitchen fitted with underfloor heating. Climb the stairs and there's a single bedroom and main bedroom with a vast kingsize surrounded by antique painted furniture, along with a spotless white bathroom stacked with thick towels. Outside the area is dotted with stately homes and gardens for endless afternoon rambles while eight miles away is Stratford-Upon-Avon, Shakespeare's hometown, which satisfies those after a busier scene.
