Yang Sing, 34 Princess Street, Manchester, Greater Manchester

This restaurant in the heart of Manchester’s Chinatown has attracted visitors both near and far with its excellent and innovative Cantonese cuisine since 1977. Although there in as undeniable oriental influence to the decor the overall look is sleek and contemporary. If the vast a la carte menu is too daunting you could take the easy option and challenge the staff, relay your likes and dislikes and have a bespoke banquet created for you. This could start with a selection of dim sum perhaps including steamed pork soup dumplings. Pan fried ostrich with lemon grass sauce could come next followed by a chicken lettuce wrap. A selection of mains accompanied by vegetable fried rice could include sizzling beef Cantonese style and king prawn with saffron sauce. Knowledgeable staff can recommend a wine for your meal.
