Chef patron Simon Crawshaw has form indeed. Having trained under the legendary Michel Bourdain at the Connaught Hotel in London, he went on to work with Michel Roux junior at Le Gavroche and with three Michelin-starred Nico Landenis at Chez Nico. Add to that the fact he’s cooked for The Queen and The Maharaja of Jodphur at his palaces in India, and that he’s a member of the Academy of Culinary Arts and you’ve got something of a culinary dynamo. His head chef James Norie worked with him at the Connaught Hotel followed by the Sloane Club and came with Crawshaw to open the Inn in a former-pub in the Chiltern Hills that dates back to 1745. Freshly cooked, locally sourced ingredients are cooked to perfection in dishes lie natural smoked haddock and leek tart with poached egg and hollandaise sauce.

Local Directions: Tucked away down leafy lanes, the Three Horseshoes is a mere 4 miles off the M40, junction 5 and less than an hour from Heathrow so great for an overnighter before or after your flight. From junction 5, M40 Stokenchurch, head towards High Wycombe, when road changes to unrestricted mileage turn left signposted Radnage (Mudds Bank). Follow this road for 1.8 miles and then take 1st turning on the left, Bennett End Road, then turn right into Horseshoe Road.
