The grounds and gardens of the Thomas Lord are beautifully well designed and the décor is stripped back and simplistic yet homely with a couple of log fires, well worn leather sofas and candles adorning the rustic country tables. The food is locally sourced from a myriad of small scale producers and is supplemented by vegetables from the pub’s own garden and eggs collected from the chicken run out back. The menu changes twice daily and is all cooked to order, here you’ll find dressed Portland pot caught brown crab cocktail with chilli jam and croutes followed by slow roasted Greenfield pork belly with a sage and apple sauce, there’s also a choice of sandwiches including Chalcroft farm roast beef topside with creamed horseradish.
