The Rockfish

The traditional fish and chip restaurant is revived in Mitch Tonk’s latest venture. Mushy peas, malt vinegar and ketchup abound but the food itself is on an entirely different level to your local chippy with breaded and battered fish like gurnard or pollock being freshly cooked to order. Guests can also enjoy other seafood specialities such as peeled brown shrimps or local whelks in this family restaurant surrounded by pictures with a definite fishy theme (even the light shades are shaped like scallop shells) on weather boarded walls. Alternatively, you can get your fish and chips to go. A knickerbocker glory or banana split for dessert allows adults to escape to their childhood. There is also a reasonable selection of wines available for the grown-ups.
