This impressive stone mansion is set in three acres of immaculately tended Victorian gardens complete with pool and croquet lawn. The glassware sparkles on the white linen tablecloths in the elegantly wood panelled dining room, made light and airy by floor to ceiling windows. The kitchen uses the finest possible ingredients to produce modern British cuisine with Mediterranean overtones. This may result in dishes such as red mullet with pesto dressing or roasted pheasant, beetroot puree with a blackberry and cassis sauce. The kitchen’s ethos of foraging for ingredients and sourcing local organic produce is reflected in the choice of local cheeses. A classically chosen wine list provides an excellent selection from the New and Old Worlds.
