The Pot Kiln

The Pot Kiln is an 18th century country pub & restaurant which was originally built as a pub to quench the thirst of the workers from the local brick kilns nearby. It is located in a beautiful unspoilt country setting, surrounded by fields and woodland. There is an emphasis on game throughout the seasons although there are always other choices on the menu. The owner, Mike Robinson, shoots all of the venison on the menu. Our signature dishes include a warm salad of wood pigeon, bacon and black pudding and a pavé of wild venison. Throughout the year most of our salad and vegetables are grown in our own walled garden and picked twice a day, ensuring the most fantastic flavour and bread is baked every day for the restaurant. We are not just a restaurant, however. We still retain the small public bar serving an excellent range of bar food including our renowned venison burgers and venison steak sandwiches. The PK is committed to real ale, with three on tap at any one time from the local, award-winning West Berkshire Brewery, just up the road from the pub.
