Three farm labourers cottages were knocked together to make a pub in the late 19th century, The Olive Branch has now been re-established as the heart of the village of Clipsham. The pub has been thoughtfully renovated to retain many of the original features (such as the open fires where they roast chestnuts during the winter) and is furnished with antique tables and chairs. The daily changing menu could include smoked salmon and pea chowder to start with perhaps honey roast duck breast with duck confit pasty and glazed beetroot to follow. If your hunger has not been sated you could opt for the croissant and butter pudding with marmalade ice cream for dessert. The bar is well stocked with local ales and a good selection of wines are available.
